I starting to think about pulling the trigger on these. That means, I will be buying them in a month. I have a problem spending money. I just don't want to give it up.

No, I don't think you have any problem spending money. I think you're quite good at it.
(kidding, of course, I know exactly how you feel)

I think my damn time giving it up, that's for sure!

Well, that's good. I like to spend a lot of time thinking about purchases too. It gives the item time to go on sale somewhere...

True story! I got a piece on sale for 200 bucks off! I was pretty happy I waited.

Rota. y u no 17x8 5x114.3? :(
I want them on my MR2 but the narrowest I can get in 5*114.3 are 9" wide. waaay to wide for the fronts.

They are pretty much perfect for my car! No poke but they are close to the strut, they fit though! Enkei loves 17x8 though. . . and I don't want that.

Enkei's would be better.. but I can't justify the $2k or so price on a $6k car :/

2K? They are much cheaper than that! For 17x8, they are around a grand. RPF1s are about 240 per wheel!

$2k if I buy them from a shop. $1300AUD on ebay plus shipping.
I could probably get the $2k lowered if I bought tyres from that place too. but I have been looking at Nitto's Invo's online for cheap

I keep forgetting you are Australian. You should just become 'Murican so I know what I am talking about.
Have you tried XXR? They make cheap wheels in a lots of sizes and offsets.

I used to be able to get stuff from tire rack, which was great. but now they've all but put a stop to letting them through customs.
I'm on the fence about XXR.. yeah they're cheap, but they might be
too cheap.
I can get a set with rubber for around 1100
also lel

black MR2 on xxr 527s. They're about $200 AUD here for those.

Just don't do what I did and finally pull the trigger a week and a half before a track day. The stress ain't worth it haha. Unless these are just gonna be your DD rims in which case you don't need to worry much.

I'm the opposite. I have lots of things, but I'm perpetually broke :)

IFFFF I get a full time position at my work, wheels for my car will probably come soon..in the form of TE37's probably.. only if though, but chances are good, which means money, which means car parts :)

Holy crap! That's a lot of views on that post, and it didn't even go to jalopnik!
I have the same feelings too, not to mention that their paint is sub par. It will start peeling in a few months. Also, they aren't very well balance either. . .

Same here, going to start working full time again in a month, which is the same time I will probably go ahead and buy these.

I'm less sure on if I am or not, we got toled they'd be hiring 8 more people onto full time positions, 7 from in company employee's, and I was either number 2 or 3 seniority to sign up, soooo, I should be getting the job. Gonna get to drive a big brown truck all day if I do (hint hint)

that's my worry too, I plan on occasionally taking it to the track.. though I could get the XXR's for street coolness and get the R32 GTR rims like I've been planning for trackdaybros
![]() 04/11/2014 at 23:11 |

You could do that. Get some super aggressive rubber for the OEM GTR wheels, they can handle it. XXRs aren't bad for the street, but I would not trust them on a track.
